Dance Sync ยท last updated October 2026
Dance Sync is a private tool used by a single household on its own computer. It isn't a service for the public: only that household's own accounts are ever signed in to it.
What it uses from Google
With the household's permission, given once when it signs in, Dance Sync uses:
- Google Sheets, read only: to read a schedule shared with the household.
- Google Calendar events: to read, add, update and remove events in the household's own calendar. It only changes events it made, or ones the household has approved it to manage.
- Google Docs: to keep one of the household's own documents up to date.
Where the information goes
What Dance Sync reads is stored on the household's own computer. It is not sold, used for advertising, or shared except as described here. Dance Sync uses no analytics and no tracking.
Once the household approves them, schedule details (titles, dates, times and places) are written to the household's own Google calendar and document, and to other calendars and planning tools the household uses. Some of these are run by other companies, and some are shared with people the household has chosen. Dance Sync also emails the household when there are changes to review.
When someone in the household sends Dance Sync a message, a screenshot or a link to a Google Sheet, it sends that item, including the full contents of a linked sheet, to an AI service (Anthropic's Claude) to turn it into a proposed change. With it goes the list of events Dance Sync already knows (titles, dates, times and places), so the item can be matched to the right one. Nothing else from Google is sent.
Google's user data policy
Dance Sync's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Removing access
Access can be removed at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Deleting Dance Sync's folders on the computer deletes everything it stored there. Events and document lines it has already written stay where they are until the household removes them.
